The 15 January Sweden Deadline: A Complete Document Checklist

18 June 20267 min read

Every certificate, transcript and fee payment you need in University Admissions before the single national deadline closes.

Sweden runs one national application portal, universityadmissions.se, and one hard deadline for the autumn intake: 15 January. Missing it means waiting a full year, so treat December as your assembly month, not January.

Your core file is the same for every programme: degree certificate, complete transcripts, proof of English (IELTS 6.5 overall with no band below 5.5, or equivalent), and a passport copy. Certified translations are required for any document not issued in English.

The application fee of SEK 900 must be paid and matched to your account before 1 February. A paid fee that is not correctly linked is one of the most common reasons applications are excluded from selection.

Programme-specific documents — CV, motivation letter, portfolio, summary sheets — are uploaded per programme, not once for the account. Build a per-university folder before you start uploading.
